Large decorated ceramic vase

This large decorated ceramic vase is a true statement piece, providing a strong presence perfect for any interior setting. Standing an impressive 46cm tall and 22cm diameter at its widest point, it can hold its own in an alcove, on a shelf or table top.

With a nod to the current trend for all things 1970s, it is a one-of-a-kind piece. The rich, warm terracotta glaze has been lovingly augmented with a giant, hand-cut lily-like flower in bold, black glass as the focal point, reminiscent of the wide-brimmed floppy hats of yesteryear. Each petal has been positioned to catch the sun’s rays, giving a sense of movement and interest as light plays on every facet of the gently textured glass.

This unique design has been handmade carefully using traditional copper-foil technique – the same method used over 100 years ago in the original Tiffany lamps – yet updated for the stylish home of today.

At the centre of the flower, wire ‘stamens’ add to the three-dimensional feel, each finished with a shiny black glass bead, again reflecting the light. These round shapes are echoed in the wire and solder embellishments encircling the vase, bringing the whole design together and creating a feature piece that nobody else will have.
