This oval Art Deco stained glass window was made for a couple in Gosport, Hampshire. They were renovating their wooden front door but did not like the design of the original stained glass that it had.

They removed the original oval panel and brought it to me with a request to create a new stained glass design in its place.

We discussed the design they would like and they selected the colours that they wanted.

Their preference was for an Art Deco sunburst, featuring warm, cherry red stained glass, with amber, soft yellow, green and clear glasses.

It was a good decision to bring me the original panel, as the oval was not symmetrical. I was able to use the old window as a guide to create the new stained glass to the right dimensions.

I am sure that when the sun shines through this new stained glass window in its Gosport home, it will always lift the owners’ spirits.
