Having finished my ‘in person’ events for 2021, I have been making a few new stained glass pieces this week to restock the shop.
The first is a large, stained glass snowflake design (29cm across the diagonal) that would be a lovely feature in any home this winter. It is made with a textured, clear glass in the centre star section. Around the edges are small diamonds made from glass in a different texture and with an iridescent surface. The whole piece is finished with a black patina to highlight the pattern. This attractive and festive artwork is designed to catch the light from all angles, just like a real snowflake. The benefit is that this one certainly won’t melt away! It comes with a wire hanger and is ready to display in a window. It would also look great hung from a ceiling.
On a smaller scale, I have made a fun little stained glass character with a big hat. The hat is so big that it has covered his eyes! Is he a gnome? Is he a penguin? Only you can decide! He has wire feet so he can stand easily on a shelf or table – or put him in a window to see those colours glow. Add a bit of Christmas magic to your home with this cute little Hattie!
Talking of small scales… there are three friendly dragons joining the shop this week. You may not be able to see their scales, as they have iridescent stained glass bodies. However, you can certainly see the spiked spines made from blackened wire.
I made these little versions as there were so many positive comments about the large wall dragon I made recently (see that blog here). Two are designed to hang on a wall or in a window, while the third is a shelf sitter (should that be a ‘shelfie’? 😉 ). Their wings and tail ends are made from rich tones of stained glass – textured green, rich blue-green, and textured red.
Wherever you place them, they promise not to breathe fire and set anything alight!
There is only one of each design available so be quick if you want to secure yours. These unique, handmade items make perfect Christmas gifts and decorations.
I have also restocked the shop with more stained glass robins and the ever-popular angels – both of which sold well at my recent events. Why not have a browse now?
And if there is something you’d like me to make that is not in the shop, just get in touch.
Meanwhile, may I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous 2022! Thank you to everyone who has made lovely comments and bought my stained glass designs over the years 🙂 .
