Hilliers Garden exhibition a success

by | 6th July, 2022 | 0 comments

As you may remember, from 30 June into early July 2022 I exhibited my stained glass designs at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, near Romsey in Hampshire.

This event was in association with the Wessex Guild of Craftsmen, of which I am a member. This year, we opted to rent some smart white screens and tables to give a professional, gallery feel. This meant I could have a large table in the window to best show off the stained glass, plus some vertical space too.

The plastic hanging strings were rather springy, but I think that was an advantage for displaying my flying dragons. They really seemed to be flying off the wall. It is always good to be able to present a display at eye level, so I was pleased to have this additional space.

I exhibited a wide range of my glass designs. These included everything from individually-designed stained glass jewellery to light catchers, wall art to large garden stakes.

Other members of the Guild showed their high quality textile art, original paintings in a variety of styles, ceramics and woodturning.

We had a rota of stewarding days and I was happy to sell several pieces, including my dragonfly garden stake, when I was there. The new owner promised to send a photo of it when it is in place by her pond.

Thank you to all the visitors and friends who came along and took home some unique art and design.

I’m sure we’ll be back next year!
