It is always valuable to visit a customer’s home to discuss a potential commission as you can get a feel for their personal tastes and style. This can be a starting point for a new stained glass window design that will sit perfectly with their interior.
This flower window was inspired by a carved design I noticed in the customer’s stone fireplace. The glass colours were chosen to tone in with the existing grey and deep red decoration in the room. They particularly liked the contrast in the flowers between the rich red and clear glasses.
It was created using the traditional method, with each piece of glass individually cut by hand and then leaded together.
They liked their new stained glass window so much that they also commissioned a matching round mirror to sit above the fireplace.
