About
Linda Banks, Stained Glass Artist
Stained glass artist Linda Banks holds a joint BA (hons) degree in Art and English from the University of Surrey, where she was first introduced to the delights of working with glass. She is an expert in traditional copper foil and leading techniques.
Orchid Stained Glass was established in 2013. The name orchid evokes the values behind Linda’s business, which produces exquisite, enduring works of art that take time to grow but which will be cherished for a lifetime.
The interiors collection includes pendant light shades, lamp shades, domestic windows, wall and free-standing panels, mirrors, fun sculptures, framed pictures and decorated vases. Linda also creates jewellery, plant terrariums (her cube terrarium featured in Elle Decoration), desk sets and coasters. Each design is unique and commissions are always welcome, as Linda loves to work with you to create something bespoke that fits your wishes perfectly. Some ranges are available right now and can be purchased online via the Shop.
Linda’s ‘Marbellous’ lampshade won a place in the prestigious New Glass – Ancient Skill, Contemporary Artform specialist exhibition, at Blackwell The Arts & Crafts House in Cumbria.
She was a Finalist in the Craft&Design magazine Selected Awards three times and gained a coveted Emerging Designer place at the Living Crafts show at Hatfield House in her launch year.
She is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society, The Wessex Guild of Craftsmen and Hampshire Crafters’ Network.
