Red bulb-shaped rich red decorated glass vase

Red glass always looks stunning with light shining through it and this decorated vase is a perfect example. Standing 19cm tall and with a diameter of 13cm, it is presented with a light decoration of intricate ‘millefiori’ (thousand flowers) glass mosaic beads and little red glass stars with suble iridised surfaces.

The decorations are carefully soldered to the encircling wires to allow the natural light to shine through the body glass. Mirroring the red stars, the millefiori mosaic pieces feature star-shaped flowering in complementary reds, blues and whites. The wire styling allows the decorations to undulate gently, providing added interest to this already impressive piece. Further wires add more life to the design and are hand-finished with delicate solder ‘buds’.

This fun, decorated glass vase was finished using traditional copper-foil technique – the same method used over 100 years ago in the original Tiffany lamps – yet updated to suit any interior today.
