Fly agaric mushroom light catcher

The Fly agaric is an iconic mushroom, with its bright red cap and white, textured spots. It has a mystical quality and is a favoured resting spot for fairies. It is also poisonous and is noted for its hallucinogenic properties.

This stained glass version of the Fly agaric mushroom stays as true to the original as possible. It features rich, red stained glass for the cap, with a wispy white glass for the stem. Notably, the 3D textures of the white spots on the cap are recreated with white glass paint. This has been made to bubble deliberately, to create an authentic effect.

The Fly agaric has been hand-cut from real stained glass and constructed using traditional copper foil technique.

It is a good size, measuring about 18cm in length and over 9cm wide. On the top is a wire loop for easy hanging with the supplied ribbon.

Each one is individually hand-crafted in England so no two will ever be exactly the same.
