Tree Window

About
This tree design was a special birthday present for a man who loves J R R Tolkein’s famous ‘The Lord of the Rings’ books. He wanted an Elvish feel to the panel so I collaborated with him on translating his thoughts into a flowing stained glass design. The tree itself was framed in a simple blue circle, the edge of which was overlapped in places by the leaves and curved roots.
The panel was created to replace a plain, clear, over-door window between his kitchen and living room and would be viewed from both sides, changing in tone as the light changed.
I enjoyed making this piece and was delighted with how the design translated into the glass.
