Snake Peacock

Snake Peacock
One very interesting stained glass window commission I received was from a very spiritual lady. She has a life-sized unicorn sculpture in her beautiful garden, among many other artworks and sculptures.

She saw my Peacock Lamp design on display at an event and decided on the spot that she would like to commission her own stained glass window based on that and incorporating some special features.

We met up to discuss her ideas, which resulted in this pair of panels features a flowing design that runs from the small panel down to the larger panel.

Year of the Snake

We had discussed how her husband was born in the Year of the Snake, so I incorporated a snake into the design along with a flowing, feathery peacock tail with several eyes. I was also able to include an agate slice and some glass beads that she had been given by a dear friend, to make this a truly personal piece for the couple.

As privacy was needed between two internal rooms where the windows would sit, opaque glasses were chosen for the windows, which would illuminate from either side, depending on which room was lit.

This was definitely a fun project to design for a lovely customer and demonstrates that anything is possible when you sit down and talk about particular elements to be included. That is the beauty of having a bespoke design service.
