Recently I was asked to create a bespoke Christmas decoration for a customer who wanted one to match an existing stained glass window in his home. He wanted a special decoration to adorn his Christmas tree.

He sent me an image of the stained glass window (shown in the bottom middle picture above) and we liaised on the design and colours of glass for the Christmas decoration. I drew up various suggestions on my computer to give him a good idea of how the finished artwork could look. I also emailed him photos of glass sheets from which to choose his favourites (he lives a long way away so a studio visit was not possible – as well as lockdown causing further complications). He selected a mixture of textured glasses and colours as close as possible to the original window’s stained glass.

He was keen to have the tree decoration as similar as possible to his existing window – just on a much smaller scale! So now he has two striking Art Deco designs for his home.

I was pleased to be able to create it for him and posted it in good time before Christmas so he could add it to his tree.
